“Don’t Tell The Bride” TV Show

One of our more unusual phone calls happened a few weeks ago. Darryl the Groom for the Valentine’s Special of the BBC’s “Don’t Tell the Bride” was looking to transform a badminton hall in Wicklow into a Wedding Marquee Venue! He had called a number of Marquee Companies and one of them had kindly suggested Pavilion to help as they knew we specialised in providing Decor for Venues. So Cliff travelled to meet with the Groom and the TV production crew and to see how we could make the badminton hall into a Marquee in Wicklow! Unbeknown to us the Groom had a number of surprises waiting for his Bride including lighting up her Wedding Dress with fairy lights and putting her on a horse whilst he was dressed in armour to travel to the “Wedding Marquee Reception. Please have a look at the before and after shots of how we transformed the Badminton Hall. The Groom was totally swept away with how we managed to create something Special for his Bride. I think she was amazed on the night too judging from her reaction on TV!!

WEDDING MARQUEES IN THE MEDIA

We are so fortunate to have been involved with some of the most romantic and unique Weddings in Ireland during 2011. All our Pavilion Weddings are obviously special to our Couples and we really did enjoy planning, designing and working with each and every Couple in 2011 to create their own “one of a kind” Marquee for their Wedding. It was amazing to also see and read about some of our Pavilion Weddings in the Bridal Media including B Magazine, Confetti, Ireland’s Wedding Journal and Perfect Wedding both here in Ireland, the UK and on Wedding web sites -thank you to all the Media Houses for sharing our Weddings! www.onefabday.com featured the totally bespoke and truly romantic Wedding that Aoife and Chris had at the breath taking Inishbeg. Everything about this Wedding had been meticulously planned by the Bride and even the weather acted exactly on cue to present a fabulous warm sunny day in April. Friends and family all contributed to the arrangements for the Day itself and I was so honoured that Aoife asked me to co-ordinate the Day for her – it was lovely to actually be so involved with a Wedding and then to be there on the Day.

Another wedding that the Wedding Media embraced was the “Island Wedding” of Aine and Noel. This Wedding was made extra Special by their beautiful little girl Maisie being part of the Day!! The Wedding took place on Arranmore Island off the coast of Donegal where Aine’s family are still living. The Wedding was not quite a blessed with as good weather however that didn’t dampen the spirits!! Aine brought so many little touches to this Wedding that gave it a feeling of a shabby vintage look overall. The paper dollies for the ceiling swags,the beautiful delicate top table Decor all came together to create a “chabby chic” look.

The “Bling” wedding of our Season – Marguerite’s Wedding in Donegal had all the hallmarks of a Hollywood Glitz and Glamour affair….. mirrored dance floor, fabulous decor and a view of the Ocean set this Wedding apart for its nod to a glamourous age gone by. We created a completely “clear” Marquee for the Jazz Lounge drinks reception to melt into the fantastic location at Castlemurray Hotel. The Marquee was actually raised and built on scaffolding to ensure it fully took in the Ocean and surrounding countryside. Breath taking and undoubtedly a Wedding that allowed its guests to totally enjoy the “high life”.

Vintage Marquee

A Vintage Marquee is definitely one of the most romantic looks and becoming increasingly popular. One example of the shabby chic style Marquee can be viewed in The Irish Wedding Journal or online at http://www.pentongroup.com/digital/wj/pageflip.html Page 162. This wedding was featured twice in the Magazine and we were delighted with the results. The Wedding was held on Arranmore an Island off the coast of Donegal which was where the Bride originated from. As a Couple Aine and Noel( with their beautiful daughter Maisie) planned a really romantic Wedding and the Bride had collected so many items over the months leading up the Wedding to transform the Interior of the Marquee. From the centre pieces to the paper dollies for the ceiling Aine created a truly beautiful effect. We love it when the Couple have their own input into the style and design of the Marquee and we work with them to make each Wedding Marquee unique.

Cherry Blossom Wedding Marquee

“Spring is in the Air” and this Limerick Wedding Marquee had a lovely bright, romantic feel to it. The use of Cherry blossom trees as centre pieces was a beautiful twist to the Decor of a Wedding Marquee. We had worked with the Bride when she previously managed Weddings for a well known Catering Company and we were absolutely delighted when she contacted us to create the Marquee for her own Wedding. Everything about this Wedding was planned well ahead and meant that the Couple were extremely relaxed and got to really enjoy the lead up to their Special Day. Nothing was overlooked from the bespoke Entrance to the Marquee to screening the Band during the Wedding Banquet and the fun Wedding cake made from Cupcakes.

Civil Wedding Marquees

Pavilion are delighted to be hosting a number of Civil Ceremonies and Weddings in 2012. Although the formal Civil Ceremony can’t be held in a Marquee – all the Celebrations certainly can afterwards! We are planning some fantastic themed Wedding parties including a Circus Marquee,a Moulin Rouge Marquee and a most beautiful Decor design in a Hotel dressed in the colours of dove grey and yellow.. We can totally transform Venues such as Hotels and more bespoke locations such as Barns and Country Houses to ensure that both the Civil Ceremony and the Wedding Reception are a true reflection of you as a Couple embarking on a new adventure together. Each of our Weddings are being planned with such love and thoughtfulness by the Couples not only for themselves but for all their guests and families. Our Team are delighted to be given such exciting challenges and we are definitely being “kept on our toes” to make these concepts come to life and to be everything that the Couples involved have wished for.

GAY WEDDINGS IRELAND

We were absolutely delighted to have taken part in the first ever “Gay Wedding Fair” in Ireland. The Event was a great success and here is what one of the organiser’s Marian had to say:

“What can I say about Ireland’s First Gay Wedding Show that took place on the 26th of February 2012 in The Absolute Hotel and Spa Limerick. Well as the organisers’ I must say the nerves started to kick in the week leading up to the event but the butterflies where seriously flying around that morning!! When we walked into The Absolute Hotel at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning we were just so delighted. All the tables where ready to go, every member of staff at The Absolute Hotel must have been up all night getting the place ready:) and it looked absolutely fabulous thanks to Enchanted Occasions, we thought we arrived early but Enchanted Occasions mustn’t have slept at all;) It really was just surreal and amazing. Then all we had to do was wait on tender hooks for all the vendors to arrive!! This is what I was worried about I was just hoping that all the 51 vendors would make it down, like everything, things happen and people can’t make it but boy was I wrong, everyone turned up with big smiles, great excitement and great anticipation. When all the vendors had their tables done up the place was amazing and I mean amazing. Every vendor put out all the stops to showcase their services and products. we were just so delighted with everyone.

Well if I thought I was nervous about vendors turning up it was nothing compared to the count down to 2pm. But I could not believe the turn out on the day. We met the most amazing couples with some fantastic stories about their relationships. Genuine loving couples arrived looking for help to plan their perfect wedding day:) Some couples that had been together for 20 years and had their date set, while other couples who had also been together for many years and were thinking about setting a date, we hope we helped nudge them in the right direction:) We met mothers and fathers of couples all excited about their sons and daughters being able to stand up in front of their friends and family and celebrate their love for each other. We met sisters trying to convince their brothers to let them be bridesmaids, I think they won the battle in the end and had their dresses picked out:) One of the nicest couples I met on the day had been at a wedding fair in Cork when they heard about Ireland’s first Gay Wedding Fair and jumped into their car to make it to our one:) It was just great to hear and I was so happy that they had heard about our event and even happier they came.

We at Gay Weddings Ireland cannot thank all the vendors for coming on Sunday and we cannot thank enough all the couples who travelled from all over Ireland to attend, we hope we made all that planning a little bit easier:)”

Fairytale Castle & Marquee

Wedding Marquee at Waterford Castle

A Wedding Marquee Hire that had “understated elegance” as the theme. Pavilion was honoured to have designed and created the concept for this Bride and especially as we had also provided a Wedding Marquee for her Brother’s Wedding 2 years earlier. We created a Marquee with a glass gable end that took full advantage of the location and a clear roof Pagoda for that “Wow” factor entrance. Our exclusive lighting system transformed the Interior of the Marquee Wedding for the Evening when the ultimate Wedding Band Boogie Nights took to the stage. The Wedding took place in one of Ireland’s most beautiful and luxurious Castles- Waterford Castle and we could not highly recommend this location enough for a Marquee Wedding. Dream Wedding Marquee

Often Brides dream about their Wedding Day and what it will look like. From our very first conversation with this Bride we began to build a mood Board that had “Dream Wedding” as the theme and “white” as being the main colour scheme throughout. Over the coming months we put together with the Bride a Marquee that really made a statement in an absolutely stunning location. The solid walls of glass along the length of the Wedding Marquee and also at the gable end allowed the beautiful gardens to be part of the Wedding Reception. A totally bespoke Outdoor Marquee Lounge Area meant guests could mingle outside and yet be covered. White Chiavari chairs, white dance floor and the white curved bar all worked perfectly. A champagne coloured carpet and elegant candelabra’s really make this a “Dream Wedding Marquee”.

Dynasty in Donegal Wedding Marquee

Trying to think of words to describe this Wedding Marquee Hire the immediate ones that come to mind are: glitz and glamour! The Wedding took place at the Castlemurray Hotel in Donegal which is owned and operated by the Bride. Renowned for its fantastic food the Hotel has breathtaking views and this was one of the main requests from the Couple that the view would form a large part of the overall look of the Marquee. The Pavilion Team rose to the challenge and actually built the Marquee up on scaffolding so that the view was spectacular from the Marquee. A Clear roof Marquee with clear sides was used for the “Jazz Lounge” as part of the drinks reception and then the main Marquee had a solid wall of glass for the views. The Interior included a mirrored dance floor and fantastic flowers with a real “Vintage Hollywood” look all came together to create this “Wow Marquee”.
